This series began in 1998 with pictures of polar explorers struggling in wilderness, half obliterated by mist and snow and so turned into mysterious shapes. I returned to similar subject matter in 2018 with Sami reindeer herders going across tundra, then again in 2023 with a sequence of endangered Arctic animals, painted on recycled cardboard for an exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society.
